Part One

The Warrior

Fear and pain are an integral part of life. We'd be at a great disadvantage and couldn't survive without them.

It is our relationship to fear and pain that we must change so we can proceed on the Warrior's path.

"Acknowledging fear is not a cause for depression or discouragement. Because we possess such fear, we also are potentially entitled to experience fearlessness. True fearlessness is not the reduction of fear; but going beyond fear."
Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, The Sacred Path of the Warrior

The Warrior serves a greater cause (transpersonal) than his own. This empowers him to have a special transpersonal relationship to his fear and pain, without which he couldn't survive.

What will be more rewarding -- a life of lies, deceit, fear and denial, or a life of openness and honesty?

M. Scott Peck said, "...when dedicated to the truth this pain seems relatively unimportant and less and less important (and therefore less and less painful) the farther one proceeds on the path..."

The truth can be difficult, even painful, but the truth is also healing.

Honesty comes from courage. When accessed, the Warrior helps us to be truthful, to heal our wounds that block access to our powers.

We no longer hesitate with the fear of pain. The Warrior helps us to take action now, in the moment.

The Warrior is neither a sadist or egoist. He is peaceful or wrathful as appropriate, for goodness and the truth.

The Warrior gets close to what he fears.
